Welcome to the Home & School Association information page. We are an auxiliary organization of St. Matthew School that functions under the authority of the Principal, Mrs. Barby Magness. Our mission is to bring parents, teachers, parishioners and other patrons of the school together in common support of the students, the school itself, the Diocese of Nashville and the Catholic Church.
We sponsor fundraisers and events throughout the year. This is our 11th year and we are proud to have purchased many items for the school with the proceeds from our fundraisers. Some of the items include; computers and SMART Boards for every classroom, the new "fort" for the playground, money for each teacher every year, busses for field trips and helping maintain the athletic field. These are only some of the ways we have helped our students over the years.
We hope to have 100% of our parents join the Home & School. It's a great way to get involved (as much or as little as you like), meet new friends and help the school, all at the same time. Click here for a membership form.
Our fall fundraiser is the Nashville City Saver Coupon book sale. We sold 880 coupon books and earned a profit of $11,400 - of which 90% will add to the St. Matthew Endowment and 10% will be donated to our sister school in Haiti. Congratulations to our top seller, Wyatt R. who sold 21 books.
Our spring fundraiser is a dinner auction called Mane Event. This year, Mane Event will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2012 and the 80s theme is sure to get your attention. The adult event features dinner, beverages, entertainment and a live and silent auction. Co-chairing this years event are Molly Conger and April Ryan. Please click here if you are interested in helping with the event or donating items to the auction. This year we made $65,000 for the benefit of the Home & School Association.
We also sponsor other events such as the Faculty/Staff lunch during Catholic Schools Week, lunch on Lion Challenge Day and two meetings during the year. Our organization is run by volunteers, so we need your help. If you haven't joined, please do so by clicking on the membership form, completing it, attaching your check for $15 and sending it to the school office. We would love to have you help us during the year; not only is it fun but it's a great way to meet new friends who share common interests. Please click here to view our Volunteer Form.
