Good news! There will be some uniform options beginning this spring (March 19, 2012), and other year-round changes, beginning in the fall of 2012.
For several years, girls in grades 5-7 have requested that I make their skirts be the year-round uniform rather than switching to shorts. After polling all the girls in grades 5-7, the overwhelming results showed a 76 to 9 preference for wearing skirts year-round. The girls were pleased and grateful. The request has been granted beginning this spring!
Girls beginning to mature at such varying rates prompted the decision to extend the 5-7 uniform to girls in grade 4 as well.
These changes reflect an effort to simplify (and satisfy!) uniforms for St. Matthew students, while ensuring that students always look their best. Please consult the attached sheet for specifics as to grades and time frames.
Our St. Matthew children are not only hard-working students; they are also sharp-looking dressers who exhibit good manners wherever they go!
