Diocesan Catholic Schools have developed a tuition structure that helps keep tuition affordable for parents by allowing parishes to subsidize a portion of tuition. In order to receive a parish subsidy, a family must be a participating member of a Catholic parish. Each parish determines their unique definition of a "participating" member.
To be considered a participating member of St. Matthew Church, a family must attend weekend Mass regularly and actively support the parish to the best of their ability by being involved in activities and ministries. A family must also complete an annual Time, Talent and Treasure commitment form and use the parish envelope system on a regular basis.
The annual participating Catholic tuition rate for the 2012-13 school year is as follows:
- First child $5,960
- Second child $5,360 (10% discount)
- Third child $5,070 (15% discount)
- Fourth child $4,770 (20% discount)
- Fifth child $2,980 (50% discount)
The non-participating Catholic tuition rate is $7,250 and the non-Catholic rate is $8,200.
In addition, there is a one-time kindergarten screening fee of $40 and an $80 per family application fee. There is an annual book and activity fee payable in February ($325 for kindergarten and $300 for all other grades). Payment of this fee secures your child's place for the following year. There is a $50 annual supply fee and other fees based on activities such as field trips, clubs and athletics.
There are four options for the payment of tuition; annually due June 1, two equal payments due June 1 and November 1, ten equal monthly payments beginning in June or twelve equal monthly payments beginning in May. All monthly payments are made via ACH (direct charge to a bank account) by the Business Office.
